Summerville Police have now identified the victim of a Monday night shooting at 152 Kelly Street as 51 year old Ronald Moates – who lived at the address.

According to a press release that was issued shortly after 4:00pm Tuesday, the preliminary investigation revealed that a domestic dispute occurring at the home had turned physical – culminating in the shooting of Moates.

Police say investigators are continuing to interview individuals regarding that incident, and are still collecting and reviewing evidence.  They also stated that no charges have been filed against the shooter, whose name isn’t being released at this time.

The shooting was reported around 11:00 Monday night. 

The GBI assisted Summerville Police in processing the crime scene.
