The Alabama Department of Transportation is advising motorists that contractors working for Norfolk Southern will be doing repair work on a stretch of railroad on Alabama 68 and Main Street in Collinsville this week.
Wednesday (December 11th) starting at 8:00am weather permitting – the railroad crossing on Main Street in Collinsville will be closed.
Then, on Monday (December 16th) the railroad crossing on Highway 68 in Collinsville will be closed, also beginning at 8:00am, weather permitting.
The official detour route – which must be used by all heavy truck traffic – is Alabama 273 in Leesburg to Alabama 35 at Blanche, to U.S. 11 in Ft Payne – and vice versa.
Signs will be posted to warn motorists about the closings and advising them of the detours.
Work is expected to be completed around 3:00 each day.
