Cherokee County Woman Back in Rome to Face Charges Associated with Drug Charges and Other Offenses

One of three people involved in an October police chase that began in Rome and ended here in Cherokee County is now back in Floyd County to face charges there.

According to jail records – 22-year old Jessica Leigh Skuse of a Morrison Campground Road address stands charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, abandonment of dangerous drugs, tampering with evidence and the possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to previous reports, the pursuit began in the area of Drummond Drive and finally came to a stop in the Newberry’s Crossroads Community after ramming the rear-end of a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.

Over the course of that chase, the suspects were tossing contraband out of the windows –  including a firearm.

The two other occupants of the vehicle, 38 year old John Thomas Duvall and 44 year old Bradley Keith Land, both of Rome – remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
