Two Cherokee County residents were arrested on controlled substance charges Wednesday night.
William Shannon Estes, age 39 and Debra Jean Wood, age 63 – both from Cedar Bluff – were taken into custody and charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center shortly before midnight.
Wood was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree.
Both were released approximately two hours later after posting bail of $2,500 each.
