A Rockmart woman employed as a nurse in Rome – has been jailed on drug charges.
Hannah Marie Newberry, age 33, who works as an LPN at the 5th Avenue Nursing Home, is facing charges after being stopped on Broad Street. According to reports, she was found to be in possession of a total of 175 schedule IV pills, two schedule II pills, and a schedule I pill – all without a prescription. Each pill was counted as a separate charge.
Authorities said they believe the medication belonged to individuals residing in the nursing home.
Newberry was also charged with driving a vehicle while under the influence of drugs.
