Gadsden State Cherokee faculty and staff have partnered with Youth Leadership Cherokee and the Weiss Lake Improvement Association for the “Keep Cherokee Clean Trash Bash”. That event will take place Tuesday, November 12th from 12:00 noon – 1:30pm.
Gadsden State Cherokee nursing students, general academic students, those participating in the Baptist Campus Ministry and members of the Science, Math & Engineering Club, will pick up litter along a one-mile stretch of Highway 9 North and South in front of the College.
Students from all five Cherokee County high schools will also participate.
The Trash Bash is being organized by Luanne Hayes, the Campus Director at Gadsden State Cherokee – as part of their “Clean Home Alabama Initiative” established with the mission of Alabama’s community colleges continuing to serve its communities both inside and outside of campus walls.
All those wishing to participate in Cherokee County’s Clean Home Alabama project should register at www.gadsdenstate.edu/clean-home-alabama.cms
