A two-vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler and another vehicle took place around 10:45am Tuesday on Alabama Highway 68 west of Leesburg. That wreck took place approximately two-thirds of the way up the mountain if you’re coming out of Leesburg.
Traffic is shut down in both directions and the road will be closed for an extended period of time. There will be no traffic up or down the mountain.
Emergency personnel are currently on the scene.
