Changes in this Year’s Cherokee County Christmas Parade Route

This year’s Cherokee County Christmas Parade is scheduled for Thursday, December 5th on Main Street (Highway 411) in Centre.

Due to construction at Centre Elementary School, the Christmas Parade committee is forced to make some changes to the Christmas Parade route this year.  Santa will NOT be throwing candy past the church. We ask that members of the public who line up between Centre City Hall and Centre Elementary School please find an alternate site to watch the parade this year.  The parade will officially end at Iris Drive next to the First Baptist Church.

The Cherokee County Rescue Squad will be helping vehicles to either turn on Iris Drive and park in the back lot of the church, or to park on the right hand side of Hwy 411, past the old middle school.  The Parade Committee is asking that floats to go to a secure lighted parking lot if possible.  There WILL NOT be any organized unloading or parking at Centre Elementary School (CES) from the Parade committee.  We’re asking that parade participants make plans as to where they will be parked for children to unload. Keeping them safe is our number one concern.

The Parade Committee would like to thank the public and participants alike for their understanding.

Line-up will begin at 4:00pm at DC Gas with the Parade kicking off at 5:00.
