The Centre Police Department is currently seeking assistance from the public in identifying individuals involved in an incident taking place early Monday afternoon at Goody’s clothing in the Cherokee Plaza.
According to Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship, thus far their investigation revealed that three subjects, one black male and two black females, entered the store just before 2:00pm, and attempted to get away with a significant amount of store items.
The male subject managed to flee with a substantial amount of merchandise; one of the two women was prevented from taking anything even though she did manage to escape and the other woman managed to exit the store with stolen merchandise after pulling pepper spray and using it on staff members. She then fled the scene in a tan colored four-door 2001 Toyota Camry. Alert store employees managed to get her tag number and she was ID’d through her vehicle registration as 30 year old Tomeka Danielle Bryant of a Jefferson County, Alabama address.
Anyone with information regarding her current whereabouts or the other two subjects that were involved in the robbery at Goody’s, should call the Centre Police Department at (256) 927-3661. Chief Blankenship said the total estimated value of the items taken was in excess of $2,300. Fortunately, none of the store employees were hurt during the incident.
