Vehicle Stolen Out of Piedmont Area Recovered by Georgia Authorities

A vehicle stolen out of the Piedmont area has been recovered by Polk County authorities in Georgia.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Corporal Mike Jones located that 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 on an unmarked trail, near County Road 889 in the Dugdown area – where it had apparently been abandoned, in the wake of a chase with Haralson County Sheriff’s Deputies several nights earlier.

That pursuit occurred after a shooting incident outside of the Felton Post Office in Haralson County.

Corporal Jones was actually in the area searching for a stolen skid steer when he ran across the stolen truck, which had been taken from Piedmont on or around September 2nd.

The theft and the shooting incident both currently remain under investigation.
