Serious Accident Sunday Afternoon on Highway 114 (Lyerly Highway) in Chattooga County Reportedly Claims at Least One Life

A serious accident on Highway 114 – which is commonly referred to as the Lyerly Highway, in neighboring Chattooga County, Georgia closed down the roadway for an extended period of time late Sunday afternoon.  That wreck reportedly took place between Ragland Road and Sardis Baptist Church around 5:30pm when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a ditch trapping three people in the car – including two children.

Lifeforce landed in a field between Lyerly and Chattoogaville to transport the victims to the trauma center at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

The Summerville News reported that there was at least one fatality in the accident.

No names have been released at this time. 

We’ll have more information as it becomes available from the Georgia State Patrol.
