A male subject was injured after falling some 40 feet from the rocks at Cherokee Rock Village on Saturday afternoon. The victim, a University of Georgia student from Athens, Georgia was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a possible broken leg and other minor injuries.
The Cherokee County Rescue Squad in addition to Leesburg & Sand Rock Fire Departments, Floyd EMS and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office deputies were all dispatched to the scene.
