Piedmont Rescue Receives $144,000 Assistance To Firefighters Grant

The Piedmont Emergency Rescue Squad received a more than $144,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to help the fire department purchase a new firefighting vehicle. The grant’s purpose is to enhance first responders’ ability to protect the health and safety of the public.

Congressman Mike Rogers says that the grant will be awarded under the 2018 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program which is an essential federal program to support first responders across the nation. Rogers adds that he is pleased to see the federal government continuing to make these types of investments into the Third District.
