Services for Joyce Marie Anthony Woods, 81, of Piedmont will be Sunday, September 08, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Clem and the Rev. Kelly Clem officiating.

Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. Mrs. Woods passed away September 04, 2019 at Gadsdsen Regional Medical Center with her daughter by her side.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet Woods; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Griffith, Edna Faulkner, Ellen Wheeler, Emma Jo Roberts, and Eva Mae Woods; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; chosen children, Eric Knight, Lori Knight Nance, Sarah Clem Jones, Laurel Clem, Jackson Neyman, and Daniel Neyman; and chosen granddaughter, Maisy Jones.

Mrs. Woods was a member of Goshen UMC and a graduate of Cedar Bluff High School. After graduation, she married the peddler man, Franklin, who was the love of her life. She was a homemaker and a stay at home mom, but later in life she worked part time at the Fair Store in Piedmont. She was a great cook and loved flowers. Mrs. Woods was a loving wife and mother.

Pallbearers will be Larry Cronan, Jackson Neyman, Wes Neyman, Phil New, Sam Ray, David Rhinehart, and Marcus Woods. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eric Knight, Lori Knight Nance,

Jonathan Atchley, Sarah Clem Jones, Laurel Clem, Chloe Nance, Daniel Neyman, and Maisy Jones.  

Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Woods; son, Steven Frank Woods; parents, H.T. and Lottie Studdard Anthony; brother, A.J. Anthony; sister, Pauline Floyd Dennis; and a special angle, Hannah Clem.
