Chattooga County, Georgia Chief Deputy Kevin Woods has informed media outlets that the individual who had issued a threat to the Walmart store in Trion on Tuesday of this week in regard to an armed person allegedly coming to the store – will be facing charges.
Chief Deputy Woods said Wednesday afternoon that the unnamed suspect was taken into custody at Walmart on Tuesday after the threat was made. Employees and shoppers at the store were taken to the rear of the store until law enforcement officers arrived on the scene and determined that there was no credible threat.
Woods said the man was sent to a hospital for mental evaluation, but that charges are likely pending against the man once he is released from the facility.
