WEIS Radio Welcomes Logan Maddox To The Broadcast Booth For The Upcoming Football Season

As we get set to begin another season of High School Football on WEIS Radio you can expect to hear a new voice in the broadcast booth this season.

This season marks the 23rd year for Veteran Broadcaster and WEIS Radio Sports Director Nolen Sanford. This year Sanford will be joined by Logan Maddox who will take over the role of Color Commentator, previously held by Shane McElwee.

Logan began working at WGAA in Cedartown, Georgia while a student at Cedartown High School as a board operator. In late 2016, Logan began serving as the color commentator for Cedartown High School basketball. In 2018, he became the color commentator for CHS baseball and filled in as a sideline reporter for multiple broadcasts during the 2018 Cedartown football season.

Logan hosts the daily SportsTalk feature during the local news, heard Monday through Friday at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 12:00 & 5:30. Aside from sports, he hosts the Saturday morning editions of the Parker & Lundy Birthday and Anniversary Club and the Trading Post.

Logan is also a sports correspondent for the Polk County Standard Journal newspaper. Furthermore, he is a member of the Rome Braves Audio/Visual Crew.

Logan, a 2017 graduate of Cedartown High School, earned his Associate of Arts in Journalism from Georgia Highlands College in May 2019. He currently attends the University of West Georgia, majoring in Mass Communications.

Logan said “I’m from Cedartown but I have a ton of family in the Cherokee/Cleburne Co. areas so I’m very familiar with the area. I’m excited for the opportunity.”
