Weiss Lake Improvement Association will team up with Alabama Power Monday through Wednesday to build and Deploy Fish Attractive Devices (FADS). On Monday they will build the devices and on Wednesday they will put them in the lake.
This will be the 8th habitat project and the 4th year of the program. FADS are placed in locations where the natural habitat has deteriorated over the years. This gives young fish more cover to avoid predators.
The Weiss Lake Improvement Association is asking for volunteers on both days to help construct and deploy the FADS. The staging area will be at Cowan Creek causeway at the boat ramp by the old Pruitt’s and former Fishing Hole restaurant and they will meet at 8:00 am on both days at the boat ramp.
