Alabama State Troopers are investigating a single-vehicle accident which claimed the life of a woman early Wednesday morning in Calhoun County.
According to the Troopers Post at Jacksonville the crash occurred at approximately 7:35 on Highway 278 some two miles west of the Piedmont city limits.
Rhonda Ledbetter, age 61 of a Piedmont address was ejected from the 2004 Toyota Tacoma after the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a culvert – flipping several times before landing on top of her.
Ledbetter was pronounced dead at the scene.
