Body Found on the Banks of the Etowah River in Floyd County Identified as Former Florida Resident

Authorities have identified a man whose body was found on the banks of the Etowah River in Floyd County, Georgia on Sunday.  According to Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor, 54-year old Mark Keller was originally from Florida – and had been living as a transient in the Rome area for quite some time. 

Keller’s body was found by Kayakers in the area of Second Avenue and Riverbend Drive at around 7:30pm Sunday.

The body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy, and it may be some time before the exact cause of death is known

Authorities do say they have no reason to suspect foul play.
