Piedmont City Councilman Arrested After Allegedly Threatening To Shoot A Piedmont Resident

A Piedmont City Councilman was arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at a Piedmont resident and threatening to kill him. No details surrounding the incident have been made available at this time.

Arrest warrants were signed against Councilman Ben Keller on Tuesday, July 2nd on charges of Menacing and Keller was booked into the Calhoun County Jail the following day.

Keller is facing a court hearing later this month.

We reached out to Piedmont Mayor Bill Baker who declined to comment on the matter due to the ongoing investigation.

We have also reached out to Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade regarding the case but have not heard back from him at this time.

Keller was released the day of his arrest after posting a $1,500 bond.
