A 23-year old Rome woman was arrested Sunday at her Trove Drive residence on a 1^st-degree cruelty to children charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Kataja Donyet Mallet slapped another woman in the face.

The woman was holding a 6-month old child, and the slap caused her to drop the child onto the concrete.

The baby sustained small lacerations to the nose and toe.

Mallett was also charged with reckless conduct and battery.
