Four Arrested on Controlled Substance Charges Monday

Four people were arrested on controlled substance charges in Cherokee County on Monday

Russell Wade Mitchell, age 44 and Levi Dylan Laney age 25, both of Cedar Bluff – were each charged with the Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Mitchell was also charged with Domestic Violence 3rd Degree.

Molly Jolene Stephens, 42 of Attalla, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree;

While Jonathon Matthew Nicholson, 32 of Piedmont was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Bond Revocation and Failure to Appear on the previous charges of Driving while Revoked, Failure to Dim Lights, Switched Tag, Attempting to Elude, Failure to Display Insurance, Following too Closely, Reckless Driving, and Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance.

Mitchell remains lodged in the Cherokee County Detention Center on $3,500 bond; bond for Nicholson has yet to be set.

Laney has since been released after meeting bond of $3,000 and Stephens after meeting her bond of $2,500.
