Details are sketchy – however, it does appear that an investigation has been launched into a shooting that took place around 10:00 Monday night in Cherokee County. Early reports indicate an altercation between individuals in the area of County Road 22, led to one of the men receiving a gunshot wound to the head, then being transported by vehicle to Floyd County to meet emergency personnel at Foster’s Mill Store.
It’s unclear at this time whether the victim was air-lifted for treatment or the seriousness of the injuries sustained.
