The FEMA Building at Leesburg will soon be getting a makeover.
The Town Council this week approved a new paint job for the inside using the current color scheme. The cost is $1,500 to hire a paint contractor from Albertville.
The Town Council says there is a need to slow traffic down, going in and out of the Landing Campground, so they approved the order and installation of speed bumps to achieve that.
The Police Department’s Tahoe used for patrol duty is in disrepair and will be in the garage for a few days, so at the Mayor’s request, the Council approved lettering and decals for a Ford car that the department already owns to be used by the patrol officer. The cost of the lettering and decals comes to $225, and will be done by TMC Graphics.
The purchase of a new dump truck from the State’s bid list was discussed for the Maintenance/Street Department at a cost of more than $77,000 – but action was tabled until the next Council meeting.
Mayor Brandy Pierce announced a Public Hearing would be held on Thursday, June 13th, at 6:00pm at the FEMA Building concerning a sewer expansion.
The next Leesburg Town Council meeting is scheduled for July 1st at 5:00pm.
