Authorities are investigating a bizarre incident occurring at around 7:00pm Sunday, along a stretch of Highway 411 north, on the Centre side of County Road 124 – according to reports a woman was discovered lying unresponsive in the middle of the roadway, suffering a head injury.

Emergency personnel were unable to determine if the victim had perhaps jumped – OR had possibly been pushed from a moving vehicle. 

She was transported to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment.

Members of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Spring Creek Fire Department, Floyd EMS and Alabama State Troopers all responded to the scene.
