Authorities Investigating An “Incident Involving A Knife” Occurring At Cherokee County High School

WEIS Radio News has learned that authorities are investigating what is being referred to as “an incident with a knife” occurring early this afternoon at Cherokee County High School.

According to Cherokee County High School Principal Seth Neyman, the students involved were dealt with in accordance with school protocol. All students returned to classes once the situation was resolved.

Principal Neyman emailed the following statement to WEIS Radio on Thursday afternoon;

“An incident involving a knife occurred in a classroom at Cherokee County High School.  There were two students involved.   One student was injured.  Both students were dismissed to parents per protocol.  The investigation is ongoing.  Law enforcement from the Centre Police Department and Cherokee County Sheriff Department assisted with the incident.  Classes returned to their normal schedule soon after the incident as a lock down was not needed for the incident.  Parents were notified via SchoolCast as soon as possible of the incident with as much information as could be released at the time.”
