Monday, June 3rd and Wednesday, June 5th – the Weiss Lake Improvement Association will team up with Alabama Power to build and deploy Fish Attractive Devices (FADS). Monday they’ll construct the habitats, and on Wednesday they’ll actually be placing them in the lake. This will be their 7th habitat project and 4th year of the program. FADS are placed in locations where the natural habitat has deteriorated over the years; these devices in turn help give young fish more cover to avoid predators.
The Weiss Lake Improvement Association currently needs volunteers on both days to help construct and deploy the FADS. The staging area will be at Little River Marina & Lodge and everyone will meet at 8:00am each day. Lunch will be provided.
