Fire heavily damaged a home on Alabama Highway 68 East near Hartons Store in Cedar Bluff on Monday afternoon.
Cedar Bluff, Centre and Gaylesville Fire Department units were dispatched to the scene just after 2:00 that afternoon. They arrived to find flames coming from the roof of the home.
Firefighters remained on the scene until just after 5:30 p.m. working to extinguish the blaze. Cherokee Electric Co-Op crews were also on the scene in addition to Floyd EMS Medics.
It appears that no one was at home at the time of the fire. The cause is not known and is currently under investigation.
