Cedar Bluff Man Arrested in Rome, Charged with Possession of Schedule IV Substance

A Cherokee County man was arrested in northwest Georgia over the weekend, after he was stopped for no license plate.  Floyd County Police say 39 year old John Edward Whitmire of a Cedar Street address in Cedar Bluff was initially pulled over for the plate violation – but it was also discovered that he had no valid driver’s license.

As officers were arresting Whitmire, they found a clear plastic bag with multiple white pills inside.  Whitmire was charged with Possession of Schedule IV Substance, Driving without a Valid License, Driving without a License Plate and with two counts of Drugs Not in Original Container.
