Several Arrested by DeKalb County Deputies and Drug Task Force Members

Tuesday night, DeKalb County Deputies and Task Force Agents conducted enhanced patrols in the Lookout Mountain area and as a result, several individuals were arrested, including a total of three on alcohol related offenses on the roadways.  Stephenson Edwards, age 75 of Ft Payne was charged with for Driving Under the Influence on County Road 852; Marquis Brookes–Swank, age 35 and Doris Davidson–Marshall, 33, both from Ft Payne as well, were arrested on charges of Unlawful Possession of Prohibited Beverage on County Road 81 near Dogtown.

At approximately 11:00 that night Deputies and Drug Task Force Agents went to a home on County Road 107 to investigate complaints from the community regarding suspected drug activity at the location.  Marijuana, Kratom, Methamphetamine and numerous items of drug paraphernalia were found.

Four individuals at the residence were taken into custody, including:

Paul Kephart (35 of Ft Payne)

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

 

Nina Williams (41 of Ft Payne)

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

 

Makayla Williams (19 of Ft Payne)

  • Possession of Marijuana, 2nd Degree
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

 

Gadrielle Wells (44 of Ft Payne)

  • Possession of Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

 

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the arrests: “This operation was carried out at the request of the community. We take these complaints seriously, and follow up on them,” adding “I appreciate tips from concerned citizens. I would also like to thank our deputies and Drug Task Force for diligently following up on these tips. We strive to make our roads safe for law abiding citizens,”
