ROGERS CALLS ON HOUSE TO STAY IN WASHINGTON TO ADDRESS BORDER CRISIS

WASHINGTON – Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, released a statement following  REPORTS [8] that Border Patrol stations are operating dangerously above capacity amid RECORD-BREAKING [9] migration:

“The crisis we are facing at the border is untenable – our law enforcement doesn’t have resources to address the crushing flow of migrants arriving at our southwest border.

Democrats in Congress continue to deny that there’s a crisis and blame law enforcement for conditions that are a result of Congressional inaction.

“Without Congressional action, the situation on the ground poses a serious threat to human life and national security. I call on my colleagues to work over the weekend to address the true emergency at our border. We need to act now, before it is too late.

”

BACKGROUND: Rogers voted  AGAINST [10] last month’s appropriations bill because it did not adequately address the crisis at our border.  Last week, Democrats  DOUBLED DOWN [11] on their rhetoric that there was not a crisis at the border.
