Red Cross Resource Center Will Officially Close Saturday Morning

The Red Cross Resource Center for clients whose primary residence has been damaged or destroyed recent floods which began last Friday, March 15 will close at 11 am on Saturday, March 23.

The Resource Center will be held at the First Baptist Recreational Outreach Center (ROC) located at 300 East Bypass in Centre, Alabama. 

“We invite those whose primary residence has been damaged or destroyed by the floods to come and speak to a Red Cross Representative”, said Khris Anderson, Executive Director for the North Alabama Chapter of the American Red Cross.  Anderson says that volunteers will be on hand to talk and share resources available.

The Resource Center will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 am until 4pm.  Coordinating with the church’s activities, the outreach center will be open on Wednesday, from 8 am until 2pm.  The center will open Saturday from 9am until 11am and will be closed all day on Sunday.

More than 3,057 meals and snacks have been served in the EMA shelter since it opened on Sunday, February 24.

The Red Cross has distributed more than 1,140 relief supplies including comfort kits (Hygiene Kits) and Clean up Kit (Rakes, gloves, etc.)
