The Department of Forensic Sciences Huntsville Laboratory confirmed the identification of the body discovered in South Sauty Creek Tuesday as that of Koy Spears, 18, of Geraldine.

Marine Patrol Troopers responded to South Sauty Creek, after a fisherman reported finding the body at 6:47pm, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Patrol Captain Gary Buchanan. 

A forensics team was immediately dispatched to the scene to help identify the body.
