A 2 vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler took place at 11:55 A.M. at the corner of Armory Road and Chestnut Bypass in Centre in front of Fuel City.

A white 2018 Nissan Altima SR involved sustained damage to the passenger side of the car, with the driver, 73 year old Mary Roberts, being the lone passenger. The driver was taken by Floyd EMS to Rome for treatment, but did not appear to sustain any serious injuries.

The 2019 Freightliner driver, 59 year old Roger Jenkins of West Blocton, AL, sustained no injuries with the truck receiving minor damage, but the truck will be towed according to Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship.

Along with Floyd EMS, Centre Police Department, Centre Fire Department, and Cherokee County Rescue all responded to the scene.
