On Tuesday morning, the Grand Palais – RMN was transformed into a “wintry village,” as noted on Chanel’s Instagram page, and memorable sketches from Lagerfeld with words “The beat goes on” were left in the seats of attendees, which included Naomi Campbell, Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld and more.

At the top of Chanel’s Fall 2019 show, Lagerfeld’s voice echoed through the speakers and a moment of silence was held. Shortly after, one of Lagerfeld’s favorite muses Cara Delevingne opened the show wearing a mix of houndstooth black-and-white prints from head to toe along with an elaborate draped necklace.

Other familiar faces to the brand such as actress Penelope Cruz and Kaia Gerber strutted on the runway wearing winter-ready accessorized looks and carrying white roses.

Aside from the black-and-white palette that was spotted at the top of the show, a blast of fresh arctic purples, fuschia and reds in the form of tweeds and puffer coats paraded the runway as well.

The show closed with smiles, tears and the tunes of David Bowie’s “Heroes.”

Fashion insiders, celebrities, and others shared kind words around Chanel’s Fall show featuring Lagerfeld’s designs as well.
