Domestic Dispute Sends One to Hospital; Two to Jail

A domestic dispute sends one to the hospital; two to jail.

According to reports – a woman with a man in the passenger seat flagged down a deputy on County Road 29 around 10:30 Monday morning, telling the officer that the male subject had been in an accident.

The man got out of the car and climbed into the deputy’s vehicle.  He soon admitted that he had actually been involved in an altercation with a woman at a residence located on County Road 29, adding that she had been armed with a knife.

After taking the victim to meet an ambulance, the deputy went to the residence in Rock Run described by the man, and took the woman there into custody.

Meanwhile, the victim was transported by Floyd EMS to Rome for treatment.

Apparently the woman driving the car the victim was in when they met the deputy thought he was being taken to Floyd Cherokee Medical Center in Centre, and went there to meet the ambulance.

After being questioned by law enforcement there, she was taken into custody as well.

We’ll have additional information as it becomes available.
