Centre Man Injured in Highway 411 Accident Involving 18 Wheeler Monday Evening

A Cherokee County resident was injured in a two-vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler, just before 6:30 Monday evening on Highway 411, near County Road 124; the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report actually listed the wreck as taking place at 6:20 – near mile marker 249 involving a 2004 Ford being driven by Thomas Barnes of a Centre address and a 2016 Kenworth driven by Charles Watson, Jr. of Hiram, Georgia.

Barnes was listed on the report as receiving injuries although no details were available, and Watson was unhurt.  Traffic was blocked in both directions with the northbound lane being opened shortly thereafter.

That accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
