A vehicle backed into a guide wire at the Dollar General Store on Industrial Blvd. in Leesburg on Saturday night causing a wide spread power outage to much of the town and surrounding communities.

According to reports there were fortunately no injuries in the mishap. The Leesburg Police and Fire Department with assistance of Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies quickly responded to assist with traffic control at the intersection of Industrial and Highway 411 South as Cherokee Electric crews quickly worked to restore power.
