Centre Police and Firefighters and Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency Officials responded to the scene of a tractor trailer that overturned in the parking lot of Smalley’s Auto Repair directly across from the Cherokee County Nursing Home on Tuesday night.
According to Cherokee County EMA Officials the trailer was loaded with Hi-Calcium Quicklime. According to reports, the driver was in the process of unhooking the trailer when the ground gave-way causing the trailer to overturn. The impact caused a water main to rupture which resulted in a water outage for residents nearby.
There were no injuries reported.
