Mr. James David Chesnut Jr. age 61 of Gaylesville passed away Saturday January 12th at Floyd Medical Center.
Graveside services will be 2 PM Tuesday January 15th at Randle Cemetery with Rev. Clay Richardson and Rev. Bill Gandy officiating.
Pallbearers include Paul Sewell, Luke Sewell, Matt Sewell, Joe Chesnut, Chad Standridge, Jarron Bennett, Andrew Jones, Isaac Jones, Caleb Whorton and Bryce Amacker.
Survivors include wife, Paula Jennings Chesnut of Gaylesville; son, Micah Chesnut of Elk City, Ok.; daughters, Jessica (Justin) Culbert of Gaylesville, Sarah (Clay) Richardson of Centre and Susan Chesnut of Houston, Tx.; brother, Mark (Lisa) Chesnut of Boaz; grandchildren, Alissa Gwendolyn Culbert ,Levi David Richardson, Lillian Grace Culbert, Abigail Joene Culbert, and James Clay Richardson; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Chesnut was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late James David Sr. and Joene Elizabeth Wheelus Chesnut. He was a farmer and land surveyor and member of Centre First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed studying Biblical Prophecy, playing musical instruments, arranging flowers and working in his orchard.
