Alabama Woman Arrested on DUI Charge in Summerville

A 63 year old Alabama woman was caught driving intoxicated on Monday in Summerville, after other drivers called in complaints about a white SUV that was driving erratically.  When police officers stopped the vehicle, they found the driver “heavily intoxicated.”

According to reports, the woman, identified as Deborah Combs, told the officers that pulled her over that she had consumed fourteen bottles of tequila so that she would “have enough nerve to drive.”  Officers attempted to read Combs her rights – repeating them a total of 29 times because Combs kept telling officers she didn’t understand them.

Also in the report, it was stated that at one point while being arrested, Combs asked officers if she could “do the hokey-pokey”.   She also “jokingly” told officers that cash found in her vehicle was “from a drug deal.”

Combs was arrested for DUI and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
