A Rome resident has been arrested after police learned of a warrant for his arrest issued in Alabama.
Michael Steven Amerson, Jr., age 22 of 311 Swan Point, was arrested at his home just before 2:00am Tuesday on several traffic violations. Police then determined he is wanted by authorities in DeKalb County, Alabama for failing to appear in court to answer assault charges.

Amerson was taken into custody and transported to the Floyd County Jail where he is being held without bond.
