Mrs. Venice Evelyn Myer age 83 of Jacksonville passed away Tuesday January 1st at Jacksonville Health & Rehab.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday January 3rd at Welcome Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Murdock officiating, burial will follow in Welcome Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 PM at Welcome Hill Church.
Pallbearers include Lyle Myer, Brent Naugher, Charles Bolton, Daniel Dooley, Ben Pockstaller and Justin Yates.
Survivors include son, David (Pat) Myer of Jacksonville; daughters, Deborah Hale of Miramar Beach, Fl. and Tami (Bill) Pockstaller of Ocoee, Tn.; sister, Gladys Tucker of Centre; grandchildren, Laura Beth (Justin) Yates and Ben Pockstaller; step-grandchildren, Daniel Dooley and Deidra Hine; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Myer Sr.; brother, J.W. Mayne and sister, Edna Hill.
Mrs. Myer was a native of Dekalb County and the daughter of the late Louie Vernon and Mary Nellie Battles Mayne and was of the Baptist Faith.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Welcome Hill Cemetery Fund.
