Mrs. Barbara Jean Lamar age 82 of Rome passed away Thursday December 27th at Redmond Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday December 29th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Derrick Roberts and Rev. Billy Murdock officiating, burial will follow in Unity Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Jeff Grace, Dale Holcomb, Brad Grimes, Chad Young, Barry Rice and Scott Rice.
Survivors include her sons, Garry (Sherry) Rice of Cedar Bluff and Sammy Lamar of Rome, Ga.; sisters, Teena Holcomb of Cedar Bluff and Brenda (Ricky) Young of Dalton, Ga.; two grandchildren, Barry (Teri Hicks) Rice and Scott Rice; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Lamar and son, Michael Rice.
Mrs. Lamar was a native of Pikeville, KY, the daughter of the late Tressie Thacker and was of the Baptist Faith.
