Centre Police Department to Distribute Toys for Children in Need

Police officers do a lot of things – and going the extra mile to help a less fortunate child who may not otherwise receive a Christmas gift is something Centre Police Officer Bobby Winters has been doing for years.  Police Chief Kirk Blankenship shared with us that Officer Winters began working behind the scenes several years ago to help children in need – and over time he, along with the Centre Police Department and others, has managed to provide assistance to a significant number of families experiencing financial hardships by providing toys to the boys and girls each holiday season.

During this year’s campaign, one local resident in particular, Ethel Carson – has stepped up and offered support in every way possible.

Donations are collected from members of the community – and it’s with great appreciation that Chief Blankenship, Officer Winters, and the entire staff of the Centre Police Department say “thank you” for lending a helping hand to those in need.

Those toys will be distributed starting this Wednesday (December 26th) around 10:00am – to find out more call (256) 927-3661.
