2018 Rock Run Christmas Parade Proves To Be Another Great Success With Over 180 Entries

The 2018 Rock Run Christmas Parade NUMBER 15 was truly an outstanding success with 183 total entries. Special thanks to Joey Weaver with WEIS Radio with their beautiful mobile unit, Wes Wyatt & Dixon Hayes with FOX 6 News with their Storm Tracker mobile unit, and Jennifer Rash of the Alabama Baptist Association State Newspaper for all y’all covering our parade today.

We had the White Plains High School Marching Band, the Cherokee County High School Marching Band, the Franklin Graham Orchestra & 60 Marching Kazoos, Cedar Valley Shriners of Cedartown, Zamora Shriners of Gadsden, EMS vehicles, Fire Departments, classic cars, trucks, Jeeps, razors, gators, Polaris’s, motorcycles, four wheelers, mini-bikes, The Fairytale Project Princess Belle (Princess Belle took a lot of pictures with the children & youth and even a few adults including Grady, Cathead and the MC) & the Beast as Beauty & the Beast, horses, buggies, Cherokee County SO vehicles, several, several Floats, well drilling truck, Angel Farm Venue Float, Spring Garden Cheerleaders, Spring Garden FFA, Kevin & Kaylee Ward singing, Cherokee Baptist Association van, the Nutcracker Float, several small cars driven by little children, Duck Commander vehicle, Styles by Debra with the Grinch, the Blues Brothers, Roy & Troy Beecham, a train with boxcars, eighteen wheeler with heavy equipment, several tractors & gators from AG-PRO of Piedmont, Calhoun Farmers Coop large truck, Floyd County EMS 2 vehicles, a western flyer, several classic tractors, Church Floats, a Hippy VW Bus, horse & buggies, lawn mowers, and many many more entries.

Special thanks to the Gospel Choir of Anniston along with Judge Ryan Robertson and his beautiful wife Missie for their wonderful entertainment. Special thanks to both Rock Run Baptist Church and Union Grove UMC for all the food, beverages, and deserts. Two very special children (boy & girl) received brand new bicycles from the Lozahatchee Lodge 97 F & M Mason’s and the Rock Run Baptist Church for Christmas. Thanks to everyone who came out in the cool weather & light rain to support our annual parade. It was a great day and special thanks to Grady Rhinehart, David Pike, Mike “Cathead” Kines, and Rick Freeman for all their hard work on the parade.

Also a very special thanks to Sheriff Jeff Shaver and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, Spring Garden Fire Department, and Mr. James Lowery for taking care of the tremendous amount of traffic.

Both Grady Rhinehart and Mike “Cathead” Kines we’re recognized by the Spring Garden/Rock Run Ministerial Association along with their Auxiliary organization for their hard work each year on the annual parade. We truly appreciate all of y’all so much. Looking forward already to the 2019 Rock Run Christmas Parade!!!
