Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested 60 year-old Floyd Edward Wells, of Centre, with drug trafficking on Friday. 

Investigators were initially looking for Wells on a fugitive from justice warrant based on existing warrants from Chattooga County, Georgia.

Investigators located Wells at a residence on County Road 16 and discovered a significant amount of methamphetamine. 

Deputies transported Wells to the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of drug trafficking, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Wells will be extradited back to Chattooga County upon his release from Cherokee County.
