2018 Christmas For Kids Campaign Proves To Be A Great Success

For the last several years the Centre Fire Department has helped make the holidays a bit brighter for children and families across Cherokee County.

During their Christmas for Kids Toy Drive on Saturday toys were dropped off at the Centre Wal-Mart and distributed through the Christmas for Kids organization through the Grace Point Church of God.

Centre Fire Chief Jeremy Lee says this is something that the department has done for several years and that every single toy collected will stay in Cherokee County to help the families and children in need.

Chief Lee said that that the drive raised over $1,200. This year’s drive was a collaborative effort of the Cherokee County Association of Fire Departments, Floyd EMS, Cherokee County EMA, Wal-Mart and WEIS Radio among others.

Each year the Centre Fire Department collects toys for needy children in Cherokee County – and each year the need grows greater; you’re encouraged to take a few minutes to pick up a toy and then make a donation that’ll mean more to a child on Christmas Day than you could ever imagine.
