Crossville Police say a man is dead after a stabbing on Sunday.
Police said it happened at a home on Main Street around 1 p.m. Police responded to the scene and said two men were at the home at the time one stabbed the other.
The exact circumstances of the stabbing were not released, but police said it was a domestic situation and the victim died on the way to the hospital for treatment. Later Sunday evening, DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris identified the victim as Craig Nix.
Austin Gilbert, 27, is now in custody, according to law enforcement. Jail records show the Crossville man was booked into the DeKalb County Jail just after 7:30 PM on a murder charge. He has not been assigned a bond at this time.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is working the case and continues to investigate.
