LAKE CONDITIONS ALERT – Weiss expected to rise just above summer pool level

Because of recent heavy rains, Alabama Power has been managing high flows on the Coosa River. 

Later today, Weiss Lake is expected to rise just above summer pool and spillway gates will be opened there.  Additional spillway gates will be opened along the Coosa River to pass water from the upper portions of the basin. 

Alabama Power will continue to closely monitor conditions on the lakes and manage resources carefully.

Individuals with boats and other water-related equipment and facilities should always be alert to changing conditions on Alabama Power reservoirs and be prepared to take the necessary steps to protect their property.
